Our goal at Discovery Youth Center is to create a balanced and enriching environment where children feel valued and excited to learn. We are committed to supporting the development of well-rounded, confident, and happy children, prepared for their next educational steps. We provide a safe and stimulating learning environment for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. Our learning curriculum, “Learn Every Day” aligns with the Illinois Learning Standards.
We are not only licensed by DCFS but have earned the Silver Rating from ExceleRate Illinois.
Infants

For ages 6 weeks to 14 months, these areas of learning focus on baby motor skill development & language acquisition. Our infant education is tailored towards developing your baby’s early life skills.
2 Year Olds

This program aims to capture your child’s interest through fun activities. With our expert guidance, your child will learn to play and count, helping them advance to the next learning stage.
Toddlers

From 15-23 months old, these are crucial learning years for your child. We support their early development with a variety of entertaining activities. These experiences your child has at this stage are important for their success in the future.
Preschoolers

Our preschool program provides a balanced and enriching program. We prepare preschoolers for the next steps in their educational journey, instilling confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
School Agers

Our school-age program offers a curriculum to prepare young learners for their future. We nurture confidence, spark curiosity, & foster a lifelong passion for learning. This program equips children with the skills & knowledge needed to thrive academically.

Goals of Discovery Youth Center's Childcare Program:
- Help children develop the skills to thrive in family settings and social surroundings.
- Create an appreciation for diverse cultures and individual differences by engaging in dialogue, exploring literature, and demonstrating through examples.
- Offer chances for children to engage with others, supported by examples of appropriate social conduct.
- Encourage creativity and personal expression via artistic activities, music, and dramatic play.
- Strengthen fine motor skills through activities involving scissors, glue, clay, blocks, puzzles, beads, and pegs.
- Enhance gross motor skills with outdoor exercises like climbing, tricycle riding, and running.
- Nurture curiosity and offer chances for solving problems to stimulate and encourage exploration.
